The best indoor climate for humans and plants has annual averages of 45-55% relative humidity at 18-23° C. These markers developed by doctors and scientists are also valid to your furniture. Therefore, it is recommended to have a thermometer and a hygrometer in the room to control and if necessary, adjust the level of humidity. There is mold and material damage if the walls are permanently damp. This might be the case in some new buildings where you have to pay particular attention.

The loading capacities of all furniture and furniture parts, no matter which material varies strongly. Special extensions and technical parts are susceptible. The specific information on maximum load limits must be strictly adhered to. Do not let children climb or jump on furniture or their parts. When installing or assembling furniture, care must be taken to ensure correct and sufficient wall mounting.

Wood is a natural material. A certain amount of warping cannot be avoided in shelves, bookshelves, drawers, wall boards, table tops or panels depending on the material and size and is permissible, as long as the safety and function is not impaired. This can occur special after long time use with heavy weight.

To ensure long-term functional reliability and consequential damage, the proper use of furniture includes the obligation to ensure subsequent adaptation if there are later deviations from the assembled condition (e.g. suspended front). Connectors are built to keep the furniture together and in position. They are not built to lift more parts of a furniture in once. Always lift each part single disconnected from the other when moving a furniture.

Functional parts are technically compromised parts between solid and movable material. To ensure that this technology works reliably in the long term, it is very important that it is handled carefully. Do not let children climb or jump on extensions, nor place heavy weight on extended furniture parts.

Visually, they often look a little different or deviate slightly from the dimensions. Fittings can be claimed, for example by one-sided handling. Functional parts require a certain maneuverability, depending on the process and material as well as dimensional tolerance. Depending on the type and surface regular maintenance and care is recommended.

Electrical parts have to be checked for declared voltage before connecting.

Many new products smell at first in a certain way. This is known and can take a few weeks or months depending on the material. The material-specific intensity of the odor evaporates during use and is influenced by restrictions such as indoor climate, season, temperature fluctuations, ventilation behavior, degree of use and duration and sensitivities of humans. Certain natural products, such as leather, solid wood, etc. always have their own typical smell. The German Quality Association for Furniture e.V. developed quality and testing regulations for furniture to ensure that there are no health and environmental risks to it.

Particularly sunlight alter surfaces, especially wood and fabric surfaces. You need to protect your valuable furniture from the extreme effects of light, as an absolute lightfastness cannot be achieved. The elemental power of the sun changes all materials. Special care should therefore be taken in south-facing rooms with lots of glass. In direct sunlight, curtains or blinds should be closed, otherwise a surface can become lighter or darker in the exposed areas even after a few weeks. Natural types of wood can turn dark or yellow, pickled wood can bleach. Such „color changes“ have no effect on usage or life. Fabrics can blech or even be injured so strongly that the surface might crack because of extreme sunlight. The color fading/ deviation can be seen between covered and exposed parts.

Color fastness tells you how the material will keep the color within itself. Bright colors usually have a higher resistance than darker colors. Mostly through wrong unilateral use or wrong care color differences can occur on the furniture. Always read carefully the care instructions before cleaning your furniture. Mostly it happens other way around, not the furniture is coloring to clothes or cushions, but cushions and new clothes (blue jeans, unwashed new strong colored cushions etc.) leave stains on the furniture.

Abrasive turs or Martindale test is indicating how long it takes to damage a surface. For the test, a sandpaper is rubbed on the surface of a fabric.

Mostly through wrong unilateral use or wrong care color differences, flaws or wear out can occur. Use your furniture evenly and follow the care instructions.

Pilling or the formation of small knots can occur mainly in flat or combination fabrics in the initial stages. They mostly occur due to the rubbing of external textiles with which the user sits on the furniture. This is known as external pilling and is a property typical property of the item, not a material defect. There are special pilling shavers for this purpose with which the pills can be removed without problems according to the manufacturer’s instructions and without damaging the covering material. Pill formation as well as the removal of pills do not impair the durability of the material. This aspect, typical of the item, has no influence on the lifetime of the material.

To protect the surface of your furniture, avoid sharp and edgy items on the top. Use proper layers or felt pets under accessories like vases for instance. To protect your floor from scratches, you must ensure that the floor is protected by special pads under the feet and legs of the furniture. Complaints about damages of the floor are usually not accepted. The customer himself is responsible for protecting his floor coverings from damage.

In order to give you a long-standing pleasure in your furniture, you have to take care of it regularly. Dirt caused by daily use must be removed. It is important that spilled liquids (e.g. fruit juice, alcohol, etc.) are immediately extracted with absorbent paper or cloth – not rubbed! – so that they cannot even penetrate the surface. Do not rub on any surface. The selective scrub will arise stans. Do not use furniture care products that contain silicone. Never try to remove stubborn stains with solvents (e.g. stain remover, benzene, turpentine, bleach).

Please do not use microfiber cloths, abrasive or aggressive detergents or steam cleaners (please check the labels of the common household products for contents before use!). Don´t place any hot items on any furniture surface.

Always follow the care instructions belonging to the furniture and material. The instructions will vary from each material and it is impossible to give a general care guidance. The care instructions are provided by each of our manufactures and send out with each furniture. Be aware, some so called “care products” can damage the surface rather than protecting or cleaning them. In any case of questions, kindly contact your local dealer for further information.

All furniture are made for normal indoor use in average households. On request furniture with stronger structure and special abilities like fire retardancy, high abrasive turs, hard foam, anti-allergen, etc. or for unusual extensive use and contract business are available. Damages caused by excessive, accidental or improper use, moisture, incorrect cleaning agents, extreme environmental influences, heat source or done by domestic animal can´t be the base for an indication of complaint, nor characteristics typical for the product.
